Begbie Falls I
Our family would camp often on the Arrow Lakes south of Revelstoke on the way to the Nakusp ferry. Begbie Falls is a bird-watching area with a forestry trail to the lake's edge. You can hike to the top of the falls or to the bottom. At the bottom, with all the mist rising, there are mossy overhanging branches, trails of decaying cedar bark, and the sense that a hobbit or elf will pop out from behind a bush any minute. I photographed this in the rain, clambering along some pretty slippery trails with all my equipment, just to bring out all the subtle coloring of the foliage.
