Some years back I was dropped off at the Royal Roads University grounds in Victoria. The plan was that I should discover the beauty of the trees in Autumn and the walking trail through the woods nearby. I was astounded at the colors in the maples even though I had grown up on the west coast of BC. I had forgotten. But soon I was creating compositions and capturing sweeping images of the grounds. I wandered into the walking trails and found some wonderful images of the foliage there too.
This year, 2025, I revisited the grounds and mostly spent my time on the walking trail. I had determined to get as much iof the greenery as possible to bring back to Alberta's prairie people. This is one of those more recent photos along the trail.. I was careful to make the giant ferns prominent in the foreground. The cabin at the entrance is in the distance.
